The Saveranand Netralaya program reaches out to patients in remote areas and provide them with latest medical facilities for eye care. We offer a variety of services at free of cost by bringing quality vision care. Through this program, we help in improving the possibilities of education, employment, and independence for the visually challenged.
Of over 24 million visually challenged people that India houses, more than half are due to Glaucoma and Cataract – which can be either controlled and treated. Most of these people live in remote areas, where there is financial instability and a very limited access to proper eye care.
The Saveranand Netralaya program identifies such people and gives them the required treatment and counseling. In addition to this, spectacles are also provided to the people in need at nominal prices.
We have been conducting this service to people who approached us, for the past 20 years. Now, for the last 4 years, the program has expanded its community work to reach out to the people. Its focus to treat serious problems like retinal and corneal disorders and prevent blindness caused by Cataract and Glaucoma has increased drastically with the participation of trained professionals.
This program brings together the organizations that support our services, volunteers who create an impact and donors who are dedicated to creating a better society. The work we do hasnot been possible without them. As the number of cases continue to increase, we are always seeking for additional help. If you or someone you know, could help, please contact us.
