FAQ

1. What do I need to bring with me?
Ans: If you are coming for the first time and are taking any medication for systemic diseases or disorders like Diabetes or Hyper tension, bring your prescriptions. If you had earlier ophthalmology procedures done elsewhere, you may bring in those reports, so that your history may be elicited correctly.

2. Where do I report to on arrival?
Ans:On your arrival, report at the reception on the ground floor. If you are coming here for the first time, you must get yourself registered. If you have visited us previously, you are requested to show your patient ID to our Patient Care Coordinator.

3. What will happen when I arrive in the clinic?.
Ans:After your registration is complete, you will be guided to the waiting hall. On your turn, you will be examined by the optometrist for the basic assessment followed by the doctor.

4. How long will I have to wait?
Ans:On an average day, you may need to stay in the hospital for about two to three hours for the complete process.

5. Can I bring a friend or relative with me?
Ans: Yes. You should bring someone with you to drive you back in case dilatation is required. But please note only one attendant is allowed per patient. Try to avoid bringing children along with you to the hospital if they are not the patient.

6. What will happen during my consultation?
Ans: After your registration is complete, you will be guided to the waiting hall. On your turn, you will be examined by the optometrist for the basic assessment. This includes checking of your refraction, IOP, and history taking.This will be followed by the doctor’s examination which will involve slit lamp examination and/or indirect ophthalmoscopy.In certain cases, dilating drops will be given. When the dilation of the pupil is complete, you will be examined by the doctor and further investigations will be conducted accordingly.
None of the procedures are very painful. But dilatation may cause some discomfort in seeing light and it continues for two – three hours.

7. Will I require any further investigations?
Ans: Depending on your condition, you may require further investigations.

8. How do I make my next appointment?
Ans: The doctor will tell you when you should come again (after twodays/oneweek/fifteendays/sixmonths) and when the time is due, you may call our reception or book it on our website.
1.What are the documents that I need to get along?
Ans:If you are coming for a follow-up consultation, bring your card issued at the time of registration. If any prescriptions are given to you during the first time, get them along.

2. How long will it take?
Ans: On an average day, you may need to stay in the hospital for about two to three hours for the complete process.

3. Should I register myself again?
Ans: You need not register again, but should report at the reception desk and show your card, so that your file may be retrieved.

4.How many more consultations will I need to have?
Ans: Number of consultations depend upon your condition.

5.What if I cannot make it to my follow-up appointment?
Ans: It is always recommended to be careful about not missing your appointments. But in case you cannot avoid the delay, make it as early as possible. You may call the reception or book an appointment on the website for the next possible date. You may seek an opinion from a nearby ophthalmologist.

6.What happens after a follow-up consultation?
Ans: You may be called for another follow-up or you may be scheduled for a surgery or you may be asked to review once a year or in case of acute cases you may not visit us until you have some other problem.

7. Will I have to pay fees for a follow-up appointment?
Ans: You may have to pay consultation fee if it is after fifteen days. You can do so by either cash or card at our reception.
1. Whom to contact for the insurance claim?
Ans:You may contact our Patient care coordinator who will be available at the first-floor reception desk (where you fix an appointment for surgery).

2. What is the procedure to avail insurance?
Ans: Please mention that you have insurance coverage at the time of planning your surgery. Submit your insurance card, employees ID (in case of group insurance) and any govt ID proof of patient.

3. In case of planned hospitalization, is there any timeline for getting admitted?
Ans:Yes, from the date of raising a preauthorisation, the surgery should be completed within 7 days, otherwise process must be started afresh.

4. Is the cashless facility available?
Ans: Yes, the cashless facility is available in the listed insurance companies.

5. If I avail of the cashless facility, will the insurance company pay the entire bill at the hospital?
Ans: No, there will be co-payment applicable for most of the policies. Sometimes the authorised amount may be less than required and in such cases, it must be borne by the patient.

6. What happens in case of an Emergency hospitalization where Cashless facility is not authorized to me?
Ans: In case of emergency hospitalization, a pre-authorization will be raised from our side to the insurance company and as per the approval received cashless can be availed. But you must mention that you have an insurance coverage immediately at the time of admission. Once the surgery/procedure is done and the patient is due for discharge nothing can be done for cashless but you hav bear the expenses and then go for reimbursement.
