An Excimer laser, controlled by high functioning computers, is then fired into the stoma of the cornea. This excimer laser alters the consistency of the cornea thus bringing the desired change in the refractive capacity. The flap is then retracted. Do not worry about the retraction, no stitches are required.

The cornea and lens “refracts” (bends) the light rays to converge onto a specific spot on the Retina to form an image. The cornea and lens can be compared to the lens of a camera and the retina to a film.Sometimes the cornea and lens fail to converge all the light rays to a single specific spot on the retina causing blurred or unclear vision known as Refraction error. This is when spectacles are required to have a clear vision.
